Hildene Sizzles with Eighth Annual Show of Salsa and Latin Rhythms

VAE heats up summer with a sizzling concert by annual favorites Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra at Hildene on Friday, July 23. Gates open at 5 p.m., with dance lessons at 6:30, followed by music and dancing at 7:30. Mid-Summer Nights Fun in Bennington

Starting Friday night, July 16 in Bennington will be the first of the "Fridays at Five" concert series. Round up your co-workers and friends, and head down to Center Stage to start the weekend off right. Each week, the Better Bennington Corporation will bring you high energy big band, latin, or country music to get the party started. Then on July 17 the Bennington Arts Guild will host guest artists Bill Botzow and Dr. Steve Anisman, from 5 to 8 pm, with a Meet the Artist Gallery Opening. The majestic beauty of Alaska inspires Bill Botzow's watercolors and graphite drawings on rice paper. The metal sculptures of Dr. Steve Anisman use lines to create motion and change, and produce a visual rhythm. Anisman gets some of his inspiration from his love of music and his experiences playing jazz drums. Anisman's and Botzow's work will be on display until Aug 10 at the Bennington Arts Guild Gallery.
